Insurance has a bad reputation for being complex and confusing to most customers. Tempcover’s primary objective was to achieve greater simplicity and an enhanced user experience through the development and implementation of its own proprietary agile digital platform that would allow it to enter the B2B automotive market and launch a transformative solution that enables blue-chip automotive dealerships to improve the customer experience and business efficiency related to driveaway insurance (5-day fixed-price policies).
Tempcover’s inhouse tech team developed the prototype user experience interface, while we used our expertise to rebrand it to ensure that users got the most out of the experience. Interface testing laboratory The User Story tested it in a controlled environment with customers. The project moved at pace and stakeholders were engaged all the way through the development, launch and the onboarding of partners.
This included live demonstrations of the prototype user experience, sharing of user experience testing with customers, launch communications and post launch reporting against key metrics. The entire initiative from start to finish was just three months and came within a very tight budget, thanks to the collaborative effort from all team members, which was fundamental to the success of the initiative.
The end result is the launch of an entirely online one-step user experience. The first-of-its-kind in the driveaway insurance industry, it is dramatically simplifying the process of how insurance is purchased and consumed. Due to the flexibility and agility of the digital solution, Tempcover is able to offer each retailer its own unique URL, where the customer can obtain a simple single-cost policy in just 90 seconds, compared to the industry standard of up to an hour, leading to considerably improved stock clearance times and profitability for the dealers and improved user experience for the customer. This super-slick, entirely digital standalone insurance solution is completely disrupting the insurance giants’ monopoly in the driveaway insurance space. As a result, Tempcover has already won major blue-chip dealer customers across car supermarkets, dealer groups and fully-digital automotive platforms.
Tempcover won two gold awards at the UK Digital Experience Awards in summer 2020 including Best Digital Team in which Further’s work was mentioned.
