We team up with Bikesure to see who the best new riders are in the UK

Are you thinking of taking your motorcycle test soon? Or have you ever wondered where would be the best place to pass in the UK?

We have teamed up with our client – leading motorcycle insurance specialist Bikesure – to create this interactive map which identifies pass rates for both men and women taking the off-road and on-road module, in the UK.

Built using the Government’s official data between 2009 – 2014 from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the map allows you to select the county you’re most interested in  and not only look at last year’s test results but also how those results compare over the years.

Robert Balls from Bikesure explains why they decided to create the map:

“We wanted riders to be able to see where the pass rates were highest – and lowest – around the country and what the trends were from place to place.”

The map naturally throws up some interesting results. For example, if you’re a man who is thinking about taking the off-road module, then you better book your ferry crossing now because the highest off-road module pass rate for men in 2014 was in the Shetland Isles.

However, if you’re a lady pondering on doing the on-road module you might like to think about taking the test in Greater Manchester, as women in 2014 taking this module, passed 100% of the time compared to 65% of men. Go ladies!
