Military charity Walking with the Wounded has appointed Further as its strategic digital marketing partner as it looks to widen its visibility and supporter base.
Founded in 2011, Walking with the Wounded is a charity serving men and women who have been either mentally or physically injured following their service in the Forces. It raises funds for the retraining, re-skilling and re-education of wounded servicemen and women to help them find new careers and integrate back into society post-injury.
Money is raised through corporate donations, events and profile-raising expeditions to places such as Mount Everest and the South Pole. Prince Harry was Patron of the South Pole expedition which took place in 2013.
As WWTW’s Head of Fundraising, Andrew Cook, explains, ‘the main objective of Further’s work will be to grow the charity’s online activity and to educate the public and corporate audiences as to what sets Walking with the Wounded apart from the other military charities, such as Help for Heroes, which we often find ourselves working alongside.’
‘It is not just about growing the supporter base, though’ Andrew adds. ‘Ex-servicemen and women are extremely employable and it is our role to demonstrate that employability to potential employers all over the UK. “
