Following their incredibly successful Walk of Britain, which saw four British and two US wounded veterans walk 1,000 miles across mainland Britain, this year’s Christmas campaign is an opportunity for all of us to make a positive difference to the lives of our homeless veterans.
All donations raised through Walking Home For Christmas will support the charity’s Home Straight programme, which helps homeless veterans reclaim their independence and move back into sustainable employment.
To help raise awareness and drive up registrations for this amazing event, we are running a Facebook campaign. The first of four ‘video’ ads was themed around the BBC’s DIY SOS: Home for Veterans and results to date have been very encouraging. So far, the video has:
Thanks to Facebook’s sharing facility, the video not only reached the targeted audience but gave them the chance to share it with their wider network of colleagues, friends and family.
The event takes place between 12th – 26th December so our Facebook campaign will continue to raise awareness and drive registrations throughout November and December. Given the positive results so far, we are confident the ads will achieve even better results for such a fabulous cause.
All the team at Further will again be participating in this year’s Walking Home For Christmas. You can do exactly the same or something completely different such as walking to your local Christmas carol service or walking into town for your annual Christmas shop. All that matters is you Walk Home For Christmas and support homeless veterans.
Registration is £10 which includes a lovely Santa hat to keep you warm too.
Thanks for supporting Walking with the Wounded and good luck!
