Further turned from award-winners to award-givers at last night’s EDP Business Awards – one of the showpiece events of the East Anglian corporate calendar.
Our Managing Director John Thew was delighted to present the Online Performance Award to Adnams, the Southwold-based brewer and hotelier, at the black tie awards ceremony in Norwich.
Adnams pipped our two other finalists, motor company Busseys and the Norwich University College of the Arts (NUCA), to win the award, which honours companies for their pioneering digital efforts.
Further founder Steve Jaggard, who helped judge the awards this year, paid tribute to our three finalists.
“The quality of the finalists for the Online Performance Award this year was very strong and it was very difficult to choose between the three, as they are all so diverse in their operations,” Steve said.
“However, Adnams won the day as they have performed really well in the last year. They have created a single blog-style site that cross-sells their products, pubs and hotels to create a co-ordinated brand.
“Their use of social media has enabled them to engage brilliantly with their audiences, and deliver increasing numbers of visitors to their site. They have created multiple reasons for fans of the brand to visit – something many brewers have failed to do. Adnams’ logical, proactive approach to marketing really impressed the judges. They’re a great example of a brand that has used innovation, expertise and forward thinking to grow a loyal fan base.”
Among the other winners on the night was Further client Economy Car Hire, who won the coveted Customer Care Award.
