Six new talents to take Further forward

Further's growth in new business has encouraged a need to hire new talent. The new skills we have on board recognise our continuing development towards a data and content-led future.

Richard Willner has been appointed as Head of Content, managing the content team day-to-day and reporting to Content Director, Paul Hill. After a career spanning 20 years in journalism, during which he gained industry awards for his content creation, Richard became a devotee of social media and since gained a reputation for creating social marketing strategies and policies.

Derin Clark, Laura Potts and Matt Pink all join the content team as Digital Editors, providing Further with exceptional new skills and expertise across written and moving image content.

Derin is a journalism graduate who, prior to becoming a Digital Editor at Further, worked as an Online Editor for a national business magazine. Responsible for a number of the publication’s websites, Derin soon recognised that her future should be in digital media and learning more about social content.

Laura is a native of Detroit, USA, where she worked as a newspaper reporter before moving to the UK in 2005 to work as a freelance journalist while bringing up her two young children. Sensing it was time to put her training, experience and professional interests back on the agenda, Laura answered Further’s need for another expert creative writer and editor to join the team and came on board in February.

With degrees in both French and Italian, also an MA in Cinema Studies, Matt has followed a career of arts journalism for national titles, consumer magazines and academic publishers before joining Further. His skill at storytelling through the written word, film and video add new dimensions to the agency’s offering.

On the technical, data-led side of the company, Further has expanded the team with the addition of Jayms Brooks and Emma Bloomfield.

As Head of Search, Jayms is responsible for management of the expanding SEO and Paid Search teams. His experience spans both agency and client side, having worked for brands including Betfair, Swinton, Thai Airways and Bernard Matthews.

Emma joins Further as an SEO Consultant, having previously worked at digital agency 20:20. An on-site technical SEO specialist, Emma gained her passion for SEO when she started her own clothes business and went from market stallholder to ecommerce business owner. Her fascination for search soon overtook everything else and she has immersed herself in the science ever since.


It is an exciting time to be welcoming the new team members on board, and hopefully you’ll get to say ‘hello’ when next visiting the agency.
