Today's SEO Tips entry was via James at Coast Digital.

"Don't do anything until you've done proper keyword research. Use multiple sources such as Google Keyword Tool, Google Trends and Insights for Search. If available, use PPC broad match and Google Analytics filters to see what short & long tail key phrases people are actually searching for."

James makes a great point about not rushing straight into an SEO campaign. It is quite possible to estimate keyword value before you start investing money in link building campaigns and on-site optimisation, only to realise you've missed out on opportunities and have to back track.
