John Thew, our MD, is doing The Italian Job again - after an absence of 20 years.
The charity car run to Italy helps raise much needed funds for Variety, the Children's Charity, that provides positive experiences for children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
Further is sponsoring John’s car, and one of our wonderful clients, Signs Express is providing the sponsors’ door decals for all of this year’s 40 plus entrants so expect to see a bright red MINI Cooper on the roads of Norfolk, London and Surrey over the coming weeks, resplendent with racing stickers.
John entered the first four runs, from 1990-1993, the last of which was only a fortnight after his honeymoon! Twenty years later and with his kids growing up fast, he’s back in the race with a 2009 MINI Cooper, bought from Cooper Tadworth.
The event starts officially in Imola on 9 May before moving on to Rome for 11-15 May. However, John and his co-driver, Chris White from Integralis, set off on the previous Sunday and will visit the Grand Prix circuits at Spa Francorchamps, Nurburgring and Hockenheim before driving on to Innsbruck and over the Brenner Pass in to Italy.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on their progress as all the cars will carry GPS trackers provided by Skytag. We’ll announce more about that soon. You can also follow them at @TheItalianJob10 on Twitter.
Meanwhile, if you’d like to join Further in sponsoring them, please do so at:
