SEO Analyst


As part of the Search & Insight department, you will utilise your analytical skills and practical understanding of organic search algorithms to provide clear, effective recommendations for campaign strategies to help achieve client objectives.

The role is an important part of multi-disciplinary campaign teams encompassing content marketing, data analysis, search marketing and paid digital disciplines. The SEO analyst studies available data and researches the online market to provide campaign insight, identify opportunities and provide organic search best practice.

You will have an excellent technical and practical understanding of both on and off-site SEO, as well as confidence in client-facing situations including day-to-day consultancy, campaign review presentations and assisting in new business development. You will be confident providing expert, best practice guidance in search engine optimisation to colleagues as well as clients where required. You will have excellent analytical skills, and be able to apply them to complex situations analysing client and competitor websites, backlink profiles, website usage data and more to provide clear, articulate insight to internal campaign teams and face-to-face with clients.

Reporting directly to the Head of Search, you'll be part of a multi award-winning team within a UK Top 40 Search Agency at the cutting edge on online marketing who create and share ideas and strategies in a buzzing, busy agency environment.

Skill requirements

If you could confidently deliver the example tasks below and communicate them to clients in a clear, actionable way then you're the type of person we're looking for.

  • Analysis of Google Analytics data for a website to identify areas where content under-performs and conversion rates could be improved
  • Implementation of canonical tags to prevent duplicate content indexation issues on a large ecommerce website
  • Keyword research and gap analysis, including competitor research to identify untapped areas of opportunity.

Main skill requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of technical on-site SEO, link building and universal search.
  • Ability to research, identify and implement new techniques and processes to ensure clients retain and build search rankings despite search engine algorithm updates.
  • Excellent, persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present compelling on-site SEO audits, best practice guidelines, review documentation, client SEO strategy documents and monthly client reporting.
  • Ability to liaise with both internal teams and client resources to deliver effective campaigns.
  • Ability to analyse data and perform effective keyword and competitor research, briefing in-house analysts where required.
  • Experienced with HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency with appropriate tools, including Webmaster Tools, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, XML feeds and website auditing software such as Screaming Frog’s SEO Spider or the Microsoft IIS SEO Toolkit.
  • Ability to provide input on creative digital marketing concepts and strategies to maximise online exposure and search visibility benefit.

•   Full time position (Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm)
•   Norwich based, with requirement to travel to meet clients when required
•   Salary and benefits dependant on experience and skillset
